Report on the 16th JEPN Meeting (In-Person): Mental Health and Accumulation of Experiences of a Program

JEPN (Japan Education Pathways Network) regularly holds meetings among its member universities to share initiatives, provide information on the admission of refugee and displaced students, and discuss ongoing challenges.

These meetings are held approximately every two months, with two in-person meetings per year and the rest conducted online.

On March 5, 24 people gathered for an in-person meeting hosted at Daito Bunka University. After an opening address by Mr. Matsubara, Director of the International Exchange Center at Daito Bunka University, the morning session focused on mental health challenges faced by students. Suggestions from a group of mental health professionals were presented, and a displaced student shared her challenges and proposals.

In the afternoon, the University of Tokyo and Waseda University provided examples of their experiences in the program and discussed how the universities can accumulate the learned experiences and continue the program in the future.

For the upcoming fiscal year, JEPN is organizing meetings as below and preparing for its first in-person meeting in the Kansai region.
